Often people think it’s the husband who persuades the wife that another bike is needed but in the Dilligaf household roles are reversed and Elaine is typically the ‘bad influence’ when it comes to adding a new addition to the bike family.
It was one cold dark dreary eve in December 2021 when Steve heard those fatal words from Mrs Moods, ‘whoops I think may have bought another bike’ and off they trotted to collect Sid the Stomp 140. Despite Steve being a little reluctant and resistant to this new era of biking, it wasn’t long before he realised his wife actually had a great idea and winter training on the pit bike began at M4 Karting and Kinsham Raceway.
It wasn’t long before the pair decided that racing these fab little pit bikes would be a good idea and sampled their first pit bike race at Red Lodge with FAB Racing. The pair also competed in the Mototeam class on the Elaine’s Honda CBR125, Linda, and Frankenstein borrowed from Dave Glover.
The pair had such a wonderful time, that they not only invested in a new Symoto pit bike but have signed up to race at FAB this season in the PB140 and Mototeam classes. The pair may also try their hand at mini sidecars so watch this space!
